At Badge 553 we educate responsible Americans on firearm safety and the Illinois Concealed Carry Laws. We hold our classes and seminars at a variety of convenient locations throughout Lake and McHenry Counties.
We pride ourselves in the quality of our instruction with convenient and comfortable classes and provide full color textbooks with most courses at no extra charge. Our classes involve classroom time and live fire range time and use the finest curriculums available from the NRA and the USCCA.
We keep our classes small so there is more personal time and attention provided to each student. Our classes are supplemented with interesting Power Point demonstrations and videos and are very participatory. Each student is hands on, not just sitting in a chair 6 rows back trying to hear the instructor.
We also offer group rates, special couple rates and private instruction. We have found that concealed carry classes makes people a better person. We educate them about the tool that they will now carry and about all the responsibilities that go along with it.
Depending on the specific class we instruct safe gun handling and cleaning, marksmanship training, proper mindset, Illinois Laws pertaining to firearms, safe storage of firearms and ammunition, etc.

I don't like crime, I don't like criminals and I hate seeing good, honest American citizens become victims. I do this to help the responsible American defend himself and his loved ones. The owner is a NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, an Affiliated Firearms Instructor with the USCCA, an Affiliated Firearms Instructor with Next-Level Training, a Certified Firearms Instructor with the Illinois State Police, an ex-Staff Sgt. with the USAF and a retired Police Officer.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We limit our class sizes for a more relaxed and personal experience. We use the best curriculum of the NRA and the USCCA with interesting Power Point presentations. Our classes are extremely hands-on and very participatory. My classes are held in clean, comfortable environment and I use the best curriculum available.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We hold our seminars and classes at three different locations throughout Lake and McHenry Counties; Wauconda, McHenry and Grayslake.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept major credit cards, cash and PayPal.
